About St. Peter Lutheran School

Welcome and thank you for your interest in our web site.

The village of Schaumburg originated from Germans who wanted to raise their children in the great plains of Illinois. They were farmers who raised their children with traditions. So, in 1847 they started a church and school that was called St. Peter Lutheran Church and School.

The school continues to be a strong asset in a thriving community that has changed from farming to a family centered business community.  St. Peter has buildings on the property dating back earlier than Abe Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

The school is no longer a one room school house. The congregation has seen three buildings erected for worship. The church being used today was built in 1995. There are two building being used on thirty acres for the school. Children ride buses to school rather than horses. They have seen everything from the invention of phones and electricity to learning how to communicate through the internet.
